A ballgown for Madam Vice President Kamala Harris to wear to the Inauguration ball that never took place in 2020, was a momentous occasion. A jumpsuit and detachable skirt followed formal wear fashion trends for 2020/2021, but also helps give way for movement and versatility; the power to choose when to fit in and when to break a barrier. As the first woman in this position in our government, gold allows her to not only shine, but can reflect a new path, a new day; like rays of sunshine. Touches of blue are seen throughout, a nod to the color palette she appears to be comfortable in, but as well as a nod to previous First Ladies and what they wore to balls.
